I'd like to know how to remove my two test clips from the site's list. I really don't care for all the abuse from teen aged know it all jackoffs! I'm aware I can just remove my movies from my server, but I'd like to remove the listings as well.

I'd also like to say that thought I'm a huge fan of the software, I think the mods should crack down a bit on all the ridiculous bashing. and frankly, I don't think anyone who doesn't have a movie posted should be able to vote. I mean think about it, without a movie posted that can be voted on equally unfairly as one might vote on someone else's clip. These punks have nothing vested. They can just vote 0's and 1's all day long with no fear of reprisal.

See what I mean?

Ah well, at least he knows his name.

But seriously though, if you prefer to let folks such as this shape your community, that's your perogative. But, this will really weaken your community and most likely your bottom line in the long run, in my opinion.

Personally, dealing with foolishness such as this is something I have absolutely no time for. Personal attacks. Baiting. Badgering. Surely you guys have a T.O.S. somewhere that this breeches.

Regards,
Brent

Yeah we tend to ignore Sidewinder and Mechaforce as much as possible razz

They do do a lot for the community, their movies have been a large chunk of the cinema for a long time and they have various plugins. Depite their complete lack of tact and coming across as abusive they don't tend to pick on specific people.

The rigging of the cinema has been a long running topic and we have a different system with the Gold users now which cuts down on people setting up false accounts to vote.

One thing you have to consider before you take low votes personally is that different people use different criteria to vote and in a lot of ways you're movies may not be worth a higher vote no matter how much effort they took. Some people may even vote only 0s and 5s in order to make the most difference with their one vote. I notice you vote highly for everyone, maybe voting above or below 3 if you think its good or bad. Personally I use the full range of 0-5. I only give out 0s to stuff that is completely worthless (I think only 1) but then my 1-5 is a rating of goodness so a 1 is not that bad.

Also some people have made very professional looking movies with a story and everything. Some movies at least must be rated lower.

Rather than complaining about abuse, why not try ignoring that and consider why people may have voted lower or just use any constructive critisism you may have got? After all if everyone just pats each other on the back for every movie then no one will improve and that is what most people are here for.

Also instead of ignoring the abuse, it help to ignore the abusers or put 'em on your "Their opinions don't matter" list.

I do that a lot.

Well that previous post was my standard response to someone who's been abused by Mecha & Sidey, however after looking over the comments and votes on your movies I have to say that I agree with everyone else!

You can't expect to get good votes for something rubbish just by putting a disclaimer up! Everybody is saying that the movies on your site are better so maybe you should submit bits of them. Also you seem to be taking honest comments far too personally. It doesn't look like anyone is picking on you, you just respond really defensively!

You should think about who exactly it is making the comments and giving those low votes. Its not just Mecha & Sidey, it is some of the more respected members of the community!

Also putting down Mecha & Sideys movies because you think they are commenting harshly on your's isn't going to do you any favours because although they were poor when they first started, they are pretty good now.

Look at my films... I have some people giving my films zeros... And now look at my face... hmm... okay, you can't, but believe me, I smile... smile

What I want to say is:

Don't take this so important! Cause it isn't.

There are a lot of great people in this community! And I feel honored and happy beeing able to exchange knowledge and tips and tricks with them and some I even feel personnally close to.
And there are others who are of no value for the community, who are harsh and not helpufl in the slightest way.

Just enjoy beeing able to get good and helpful comments and don't care about the others...

I should hope that when people say something negative about a movie, it's not a personal attack. Although it might seem like that sometimes, it's obviously not. Someone showing their opinion about your movie is not a personal attack. Especially if they tell you how you can fix what you did wrong.

I'm sorry I didn't realize when you put your movie on the internet that it would be viewed by teenage know it all jackoffs(TKIAJ) I thought it would only be viewable by 35 year old know nothing jackoffs like ME! lol

Get real grow a skin man your clips were crap and they just told you what was wrong with them. If you take there advice and fix them, those same TKIAJ's will be patting you on the back as I will.
I do not YET have anything in the cinema mainly because, I would never submit anything I wasn't proud to put my name on, and it takes time and effort to make quality SFX movies.

Greybro, honestly no one has any beef against you. You may find this hard to believe, but most of us do vote on movies very objectively. Granted, some of the dudes here express their views rather harshly, but that's just their style.

There's really no need to take things personally. In truth, most of the comments you've gotten are pretty mild in comparison to some of the prose used against others in the past! e.g. "gross! this sucks! worst crap I've seen in my entire life! Retire from film making, you baboon!"

So, take things easy and chill out like the rest of us old dudes (right, Ice_Man, B4uask and Ol' Dav?) biggrin

And also, it's good to learn to take criticisms well. That's a life lesson.

SOMEONE CALL MY NAME moe wink

This is a tricky one for me, I've been where you are Greybro when I started here, i submitted films that I thought I would get helpful comments and feedback, ( I only got 10% positive / Constructive feedback, the rest was a few lines that I took as hostile )

Thats why now I try and a least put something worthwhile on a post.

Even to this day I get a low vote with a comment, sound was crap, as you all know I really listen to what you guys say and I work with it, shadows was a huge knock down for me on "Earthbound" but on " Breakdown" I made sure there was Shadows everywhere.

So although I can see both sides, if anyone does give a negitive comment could they do it with a reason or solution to help the person.

I'm leaving this subject alone now, confused

The man is right! People are biased here! I made "The Greatest Movie Ever Made" which is so short and basic that its flawless......... and still many, many people voted 0. One guy even suggested that I go shoot myslelf!

Its all down to jealousy if you ask me! cool hee hee
