hi
I'm not the sort of person to give bad reviews.

Just thinking about some things you could have done, it seemed very rushed.

tripod ( camera work was too wobbly )
editing, I could here the cameraman telling the actor to start.

maybe when the guys spits, if you can, do it in slow motion.

the guy spinning with the branch, looked a little weak ( I thought it was going to be a light sabre )

didn't show any kind of story cry

but the titles were good biggrin

Very rough around the edges, this. I enjoyed your motion graphics as I could tell you spent most of your time and effort on those. Some muzzle flashes would have seemed appropriate as well.

I think that most of the bad things have been said. But on the whole, I didnt quite get what your movie was going to be about. Usually a trailer gives a little peek into the direction the movie will follow. All I could see is that you will be firing guns and playing in your backyard. Maybe you should go back a write out how you want your movie to flow and what camera angles you will use. This helps out tremindiously, in fiming if you know what you want to do next.
Also the part with the stick was damn good laughs. I am sorry but it was funny.
Keep it up.

Ok, Let's get a kid that doesn't even look old enough to even play the game, let him twirl a stick around like he's in a marching band and film him in the front yard. If you follow these steps you'll get this movie. I'm sorry but if I was the devil and I saw this, i'd be crying my ass off...

7/5 :Best comedy ever. Here is a brief summary:

-De-aligned titles!
-Boy spits!
-Gun takes control of kid!
-Stick takes control of kid!
-FLOATING WINDOWS!

Man. Seriously. Thats one of the best video's I've ever seen. I've watched it several times and still find it great!

It was pretty bad. I mean that in the nicest way possible. Usually it seems there'd be a way to give you some pointers, but I'm not sure what I just saw. I wouldn't call it a "trailer" either. It looks like all of the time was spent on the text graphics. I almost burst into tears during the stick spinning scene. In the future I will put up a movie with me spinning a bo and I'll show you how it's done. Hell, I may even light each end on fire for real just to leave an impression.

You must be a young kid, so just keep practicing. Learn from your mistakes. Watch your video and imagine you were someone else watching it, then ask yourself what you thought about the "trailer". I thought trailers were supposed to actually be a preview to an actual movie. Maybe, it's just me, but is the movie about spitting and spinning a stick by yourself in your backyard? Oh yeah, and shooting glass hovering above ground.

Take a little time to plan what you film. Write it down, imagine it in your head. Then create.

PS: Those guns must have kicked like an elephant gun, because I thought they were going to make you a double amputee after you were done shooting. Just try to take time to not overdo something and make sure each effect is placed properly. Keep trying. Don't give up, no matter how harsh the criticism seems. You cannot please everyone NO matter what you do, you can only try to do your best........er something.

That was hilarious...eek

But let's go easy on him chaps, that boy looks about only 11 & there's obviously some wish fulfilment going on. Just remember what you were like @ his age, pretending to be your favourite hero.

Looking forward to your next one - I could do with another good laugh lol

Good luck with that, I think that one of the main things for me as a film maker is living out ambitions. Film is an extremely expressive form of wishful thinking and sometimes, just sometimes you make a bit of magic. After watching this trailer atleast 30 times I can see there's alot of wishing going on, just not enough thinking. A bit of uniform and prop changes as well as some thought going into how you act as the character might have made this not so terrible.

There are 2 sets of advice I could give you, one from a directorial point of view and one from an actor. But both would ultimately end in me telling you to go back and think more into your character/trailer.

I look forwards to seeing the movie, the bunch at AlamDV are scrupulous in their reviews so don't overlook anything. We're all fans of detail here (I Believe). Good Luck smile

Confuscious or as the army called him back in nam, 'Shinoda' once said, you tried so hard, but you know? In the end, it doesnt even matter, because what you gave me here in this very place.... gosh, as you can see its gotten me quite flustered. Let me start over.

This film made me feel like a glass junkie all over again. But hell, dont get me wrong, a glass junkie 'of love'. Its just, while watching, I was craving for the cold hard grip of reality to tear the bandages from my eyes and the gag from my mouth (and also to perhaps a more important extent the blood from my soul) but you know what Christoph? That grip never came.

Ok, so, picture the scene, heres me frantically scraping at my eyes to rid them of the pain, when, get this! Non other than Paco the ice-cream man arrives, with his terrible wailings of ice-cream propaganda... GIT YER ICE CREAM! (he calls, to the melodic yet embarrasingly hypnotic tones of the moonlight sonata) GIT IT WHILE ITS COOL AND CREAMY! But all the mouth drenching while, I cant help but think, we dont need ice creams its the middle of winter? And, well, to be Frank, Cristoph, your sound is much the same. Your flaunting your jaunty wares to a stagnant market, you know? You just need to look beyong the barriers of tradition. Im thinking (especially for the 'red room' scene) you should get some circuit bent noises in there. (For more info: http://www.oddmusic.com/illogic/) and maybe use a clown suit for the main protagonist, just to heighten the perhaps slightly underplayed metaphor for death and decay.

If you feel maybe this would make it all a bit obvious, perhaps you could go down the subtle route, use stop frame animation in scenes three, four and two.

Of course all of this is just my humble advice. But perhaps if you where to take heed, you'd get a much more deserved 5, than such a lowly 2.

All in all, great stuff! If you where a company, I'd refrain from buying shares in you, in case someone where to accuse me of insider information and get me arrested! (Because, well, obviously you'd go from nothing to an overnight success and it would look a little odd if I baught like, for instance 96 percent of your shares and then suddenly your shares all took a massive hike overnight, you know?)

A big step right outta the space ship and straight into drifting without oxygen. er-no's very first piece was a masterpiece of soul poured into work. Not a kid spitting. Sure, he had to start...but it sure as hell wasn't by submitting to Alam.

P.S. Tarn has mentioned in another thread he doesn't like arguing within film comment threads, if you wish to have something to say to er-no, PM him, I am sure he will reply.
