I've seen there was mentioned Nightcrawler's teleportation, but there are few more really nice FX in X2:
-Wolverine's healing factor, like a wound that heals up, you have already wound-plugins, so I think this is quite possible,
-More fire FX like those of Pyro, if you seen the movie, you know what I mean,
-Last is something that is impossible in AlamDV2, unless I don't have idea how to do it, it's Collosus transformation and appereance, if you have any idea how to do it, it would be nice lol

If someone can do it, Big thanks!
P.S.
Maybe something of Iceman? Frost rays, ice walls etc.biggrin biggrin biggrin

You can already do most of Pyro's stuff using the existing fire plugins. Firetrail, for example, enables you to build up some very nice Pyro-esque stuff. I know, I did it just the other day. smile

Regarding the Nightcrawler effect :

I'm having a play around with a few concepts. Getting exactly right will be rather tricksy, but a convincing approximation should be possible.
How's your Nightcrawler effect coming along Tarn? I know you guys are really busy at the moment but i was just wondering as I'll probably be needing that type of effect in about 2-3 weeks or so.

thanks

It's coming along slowly. smile

It's a tricky effect to replicate. They use a very unusual kind of particle system. And it's having to sit on the backburner for now while I work on other things - so don't count on it being along anytime soon. Hopefully other people are also working on it, though.

This is probably very tricky, but I'll give it a shot....

I think the best way to do it, is to have a "before" and "after" shot. The before shot is your actor standing in his normal clothes, and the after shot is him standing wearing some kind of armour / metal / tinfoil! biggrin . You could then film both shots against a bluescreen, or have your actor stand in the exact same position. Then you could take both takes into AfterEffects and perform a morph using reshape and other video-altering effects. try www.creativecow.com for tutorials on performing a morph in AfterEffects. Here's one tutorial... http://www.creativecow.net/articles/zwar_chris/morph/index.html

No problem, I wasnt expecting you to be working on it at the moment, especially with the new site and programs just around the corner. Hopefully other people are working on it as you said. Else i guess il just try and manipulate some of the current Alamdv plugins, or use AfterEffects to give me a good effect

thanks

As far as the Collosus thing goes... I beleive there are some T-1000 plugins that should do just fine.

With a good combination of masking, it should turn out alright. cool

Hey, thanks guys! biggrin
I'll try to make fire and ice stuff with existing plugins, perhaps it'll do fine.
Thanks for great tips, perhaps I'll be able to make something cool lol lol lol
But still, can anyone make Wolvie-healing plugs? I think that's quite useful stuff, and nice-looking biggrin
And with that iceman stuff, i was wondering if there's something like ice beams, not ice shard, which already has been made, but still, I asume I can try with what I have biggrin
P.S.
Special thanks to:

I have a power washer, and when i sprayed it into the air, it looked almost exactly like nightcrawler's teleport. I'm going to find a way to film it against a black background well lit, and then screen it and mess around with the colors and such. I'll get back to you. It should look damn good.

Oh for sure. It's not going to be the same every time. And I can make different colors too. I just need a big black background now...

Is it? There are already plugins of wounds, scars etc. So making animated wound that heals up isn't impossible.

Get a plugin of a scar or wound... In your editing program, render the clip so it plays backwards, then upload it in ALAMDV2. Add the scar, export it back out. Open the clip in your editing program again, and reverse it again. Now the movie should be playing like normal while the plugin plays in reverse.

You could try taking the wound plugins and shrinking and fading them out to represent the healing.

That's what it looks like they did in the movies half the time.

Yeah, so if someone will ever have few ( biggrin ) minutes of time, and mood of coarse, it'll be really nice to make several variations. I think it would be cool effect, very useful, so a lot of people can use it.
So again, make this plugin if you can lol lol lol
