Preview of what's to come? Was that all for one movie? I hope not...

Your effects looked pretty good, but the playback was kinda choppy for me sometimes, so i don't really know.

Some things, though. Don't you think it would be better to record your own voiceover? If you ask me it's pretty f*ckin stupid to use a voice over from the matrix trailer. Seriously. Get rid of that. For one thing, it didn't have anything to do with your trailer from what I could tell, and it's also pretty unprofessional. That's like what 10 year old kids would put in their trailer because they don't know how to do anything else.

So anyway, not a bad attempt, except for the fact that you used that voiceover.

That wasn't bad. Wasn't good, but not bad. From what i can tell it looks like a bunch of kids with laser tag guns and effects added in.

I like the camera work and the effects. the lightsward fights look well done as well. But like Aculag said don't use other movies footage or voice or whatever, take the time to do your own.

The one exeption is Legacy of the Spellmaster with monty python, that was just funny.

Hmmm where have I heard that dialogue before?!?! It just sounds so familiar somehow! Could it be from...The Matrix Reloaded Teaser?!?!
Naaaahh!

CONS
1. NEVER use dialogue ripped from another movie in your movie.

2.Shirtless jedi lightsaber battles and lasertag gunfights do not look at all professional.

PROS

1.That blue weird background played during the saber fight was sortof cool.

Now use those editing techniques of which you are very good at and apply them to a short film!

It had good editing, shame about the stolen sound.

Some very nice editing and good camerawork in places. Suffers occasionally from the 'kids with silly guns' problem, but generally I thought it had a lot of promise.

I look forward to seeing the full movie...

Thanks you all for your comments. The good and the negative criticism will only ameliorate our abilities. I need to hear the constructive criticism to help me perform better. I definitely have MUCH to learn.

To Aculag,
We have worked very hard on the main video. The preview was just a preview. We created a preview just to help motivate us to complete the film. We did not want to spend months making a FLAWLESS preview and totally disregard the main film thus we decided to us some shortcut like the voice over. My partner did a great job in preview concept, and editing, considering how fast he did it in the mist of his other commitments. Aculag, I do appreciate your comments. I know now not to use the a voice over. Keep in mind, the film has much more than what on the preview.

To Blakestone,
Thanks! Regarding the kids…well the movie will have more than kids in it. However, Adult are very difficult to get to do anything at times. It’s a long story how this started out but the film will be better than the preview!

To: Kyeju
What you mean about the shirtless Jedi? cry This is the next generation Jedi, the new and improve Jedi…hehe. Neither of the character are Jedi but there are reasons for the lightsword and laser tag weapons. Okay, everything will be explained in the film.
‘Copy that’, don’t use dialogue ripped from another movie, get rid of the topless black guy, and hire professionals. Just kidding. We are working hard to improve everything. Just keep in mind, we are beginners, our resources and time are limited. Your comments are noted and appreciated.

To er-no:
er-no I appreciated the profound words—I will comply.

To blaine:
Your comments are a relief. I almost fell into deep depression tard until I read your input. Now, I don’t have to visit my Psychiatrist, I can use that money to eat and get lesson on how to make a better preview. Actually the responders ‘schooled’ me on some good and valid information. However, thanks for the encouragement. I first thought you were being sarcastic due to all the negative comments before yours. Thanks!!!!!! Thanks for the blue background comment—BELIEVE ME! I want to know what the mass think. Its good info.

To Tarn:
Thanks for your kind comments. NO! “Kids with silly guns” are cool. It beats “kids with real guns.” biggrin Hehe…if it wasn’t for them…I wouldn’t gotten this far. Thanks for the good words—We will aim to redeem ourselves and hopefully, you will be please when the film is release. Thanks Tarn.

I thought the trailer was pretty kewl. I didn't think that using the voice over was bad because he used one from another source, but because it didn't seem to work with what was going on.

I must say, GO SHIRTLESS PEOPLE! MAY WE UNITE! I spend at least half my life without a shirt on. I don't think it makes it look silly. If I had it my way, I would spend the rest of my life without a shirt on!

Anyway, can't wait for the real thing. Er-no is right, the editing was good!

I thought the preview was really good.
I understand why you used the voice over, there is so much work that goes into these.
I'm sure next time you'll take the time and fix it, but for now it worked swell. biggrin
I really liked the sound effects, they were really good.
I thought the blue background did look a little weird, but not 'bad' just a little weird.
I can't wait for the final thing to come out.
Keep up the good work over there.

Nice work. I look forward to seeing how it comes out. Once again I find Aculag's remarks overly critical.

Hey people of the world, so do you guys like the preview so far? or does the voice over bug you that much?
The reason the voice over was used, (just so all of you know, me and Cyborg a.k.a. XcyborgX are the two working on this project) was because we were running out of time and wanted to get this preview online asap.
I was goofying off one day and I started editing it with no intentions of posting this. as it got closer and closer to getting done it started looking better, so in the end this is what came out. biggrin
We are still working on the final product, just remember this is the Preview not the movie.
maybe we will release a pre-release trailer before releasing the final movie. just maybe. these things take time.
anyway, please rate this preview, if it doesn't get rated than no one really knows about it.
thanks,

Superman.o2-o3

*Sigh* Greybro, are you really that clueless? The only thing I criticised in that trailer was the voiceover being from another source. Almost everyone else criticised the exact same thing. Quit this crusade you have to bring me down. You're just naysaying for the sake of naysaying. Read my post again if you don't believe it. And actually read it this time.

despite the fact that everyone hates the voiceover, i think it fits pretty well, even though it's, oh, shall we say, not right for the movie. the sabers look pretty tight. also, i liked how instead of the regular lasers, you used the glowy-spiraly-things. it looked pretty good. and the shirtless jedi we could do without. sorry people, but my boat doesn't float that way. i am a guy backed my by high amounts of testosterone and i'm not into shirtless guys. now if the shirtless jedi happened to be FEMALE that would be a whole other story!

overall pretty good. i liked it. i'm looking foward to the final product.

Not quite sure why everyone has a problem with a guy with his shirt off. You really all that scared? You must have real difficulty when you go to swimming pools or the beach! cool

The thing that struck me about the shirtless guy wasn't some sudden irrational, silly fear of the flesh, but that he looked a lot older than the rest of the people in the film...hope that doesn't cause any probs.

Greybro and Aculag - if you want to pursue whatever grievances you have, do so in private messages. This thread is to discuss this movie. Take it elsewhere, please.

First of all I thought the "shirtless" guy did not look out of place at all. I was very surprised when I read these comments that it was even mentioned. So after reading the comments I watched it again I can only assume that you are all jealous, if I was "cut" like that I would probably never wear a shirt, except as a Irish decendant redhead I burn real bad. Anyway [B]grow up![B/] Moving right along I did not recognize the voice over but none the less I found myself literally saying what is up with the voice. It just seemed so strange to have that voice on a fan film starring young kids. I guess now I know why. The overall film thigh I thought was not bad for a first try, the opening title was meesed up it was illedgible and gone very fast. Nice editing and camera work,. Keep it up.

I rather enjoyed this and i agree with tarn on the shirt thing.

justinsane: that voice is a direct rip from the matrix reloaded trailer and it is morpheus speaking.

It was good!

You could see the sticks under the lightsabers somtimes, just to for warn you. And the narration kind of messed it up, like tarn said "kids with silly guns", and there was no hint of a story but other than that it was good! cool

I'm not a big fan of lone reviews so I'll keep it short and to the point.

Not bad at all. In fact, t'was rather enjoyable.

Cons:

"Kids with silly guns" syndrome. But hey whats wrong with silly guns? Ever seen the fifth element? *shivers*

You could see the blue mat you were jumping on in some shots.

Where are the costumes lads?

No plot. To my knowledge.

Even less sense razz

Hoodies. Sort of ties in with costumes I suppose.

Pros:

Dives!

Guns!

Splodes!

Sabers!

Vortex!

Well edited!

I mean. Well edited. There we go. And the slow mo was awfully smooth. Good for you. And some of the effects were cool. The distortion of the lens when changing shot etc.

A hearty 3+ from me (I can't rate previews too high I'm afraid)

Cheers,
Fight.

P.s In hind sight that post was quite long which goes against everything I stand for. tard

I especially liked the text effects and narrator voicing, looked and feeled almost like the real thing. howed u do that? what program did u use? just get some new props for the real movie and youll be just fine.

Again, thanks to all comments. Thank you very much for taking time to reply!!! Also thank to the creators and maintainer of AlamDV site. It’s an awesome opportunity to have an amateur video displayed to the world. biggrin

Okay, I have to make the reply brief:

To ZergDestroyer,
I did the text in After Effects utilizing the Shine plugin. Thanks for the comments.

To Fight,
First of all I like your name and thanks for the comments. Also thanks for taking time to write a longer response than you normally do.

ggbros,
Didn’t notice the discrepancy, I will have to scrutinize the video and rectify it.

MidnightJester,
Thanks parnta, U R 2 cool. You have my vote as president of Shirtless. We could start a revolution. ‘you da man’ smile

Cypher, justinsane, MidnightJester, and Tarn,
You are all are awesome. Regarding the shirt issue, thanks for mentioning about that. I don’t know what is the fear or shame they may have about this issue. It a minor issue to me. No one seems to have a problem with Wolverine, Rambo, Boxers, Kickboxers, NHB fighters, etcetera, etcetera. No one complained about the HULK and EVERYONE respects him. Hehehe. I guess those “playa haters” will not be going to very many movies. Thanks again you all especially to Tarn!

To whom it may concern,
In the beginning the text was distorted but that was a result of the Microsoft compression. In the uncompressed version, the text was nice. I created a bit of distortion to invoke your attention. I did not want ‘PSYCHOSIS’ to be clear until the end of the preview but again the compression and software distorted it.
I say this in a respectable way. Please do not interpret this in an anger or negative tone. wink Regarding kid issue, I have failed to give credit where credit is due. If it was not for Superman. 02-03 this film would not exist! It was him who birthed this project. The project have been under modification ever since. Like I said, it is difficult to get adults to participate and commit. Perhaps they do not share the same vision. Now we have proven ourselves (to certain degree) and will have more adults. The store line will be intact. I know we fail to mention the plot or story line but we had no intention originally to do it. I know now it was a mistake (not mentioning the plot). It was more of a teaser than a preview but like I said, we want to get something out to motivate us. We work SOOOOO long and hard, sacrifice much, and had nothing to show for it. We have NO regards displaying the preview because I learned much from the response alone so thanks to you all.

Much respect and credit to Superman-o2.o3, he was also a major factor in the editing process. He is also a great partner and friend.

This project is a huge burden, a burden that I welcome and grateful to have the opportunity to engage in. I pray that our efforts will be worthy of your viewing.

Hehe.. there was really cool editing here.. the cuts, the "fade to red" thingy.. and the "blur on the edges zoomy"-thingy.. smile

But I'm sorry to say it.. I didn't like the guns too much either..

It would also be cool if there was some kind of story to it smile

It'll be cool to see the full movie!
