Quantum Leap: Experienced Help Required

About that Quantum Plug in...
Going nowhere fast. With 177 frames over 5 seconds, it is about 120 megabytes. Impossible to use. My editing software only lets me change a video into 3 kinds of sequences: Tiff (120 megs), Targa (wtf?) or Gifs.
I turned it into a gif sequence, and tried that in ALAM. It installed correctly, giving me hope, but... it locked up ALAM when I tried to actually use it in the program (and screwed up ALAM completely until I rebooted).
I would love a jpeg sequence, but Premiere 6.0 doesnt have that option, nor does the tiff sequence give me any option to compress the pics in any way. The gif sequence was a decent if large 28 megs, but locked up ALAM as I said, even after a successful install.
I cant even open up the tiff pics to change them to jpeg.
Now some things I am good at, and this isnt one of them. I cant get that avi video into a sequence of pics that is possible to upload. I need new insight on the nuance of tiff pics, or what is possible within Premiere 6.0. As I said, I am not given a compression option when making the pic sequence.
Now I HAVE tried taking the leap as a movie and applying various transparency options. Chroma, Luminence, Black Alpha Matte, all of those have had satisfactory success in removing the black background and putting it in a movie, which may be a better option that a plug in anyway. The complete Leap Loop (say that 5 times fast) is 5 seconds and 18 megs in .avi format. If you reverse the footage yourself it would be only 9 megs, and THAT I could upload to my server (I have a 12 meg at a time limit). OR the ALAM dudes could let me upload the movie to their server for you guys to download and make transparent at your own convinence.
So, I need help, one way or the other.
Life was so much easier when all I had to do was make a Death Sword of Black Magic that flew thru the air, my only defense being a sword of blazing fire that seared the very air as I fought for my life. Those were the days.

... I tried but I just don't understand. You can't import your footage into alam because it's too big? Can't you cut it up or render the plugin and paste it no the fotoage? Jeez, forgive me for being a tard. I suppose this kool-aid-but-mostly-vodka drink isn't helping me...

I think he's saying that the plugin he made was too big to conveniently download (120 megs for a plugin is pretty amazing. . .)
if you can send it to me, JF, I'll convert the frames into something a little more manageable. . . .

Why don't you just download something like the "graphicsconverter" to convert your huge files down into a better format?

I would if I had thought of that. In some places I am a complete fraud. I have to learn everything the hard way (but if I had a nickel every time someone told me I had to download another program... cant there be one super program that covers all this?)
Anywho, I havent tried to ZIP the damn thing yet, so maybe that will fix something. If all else fails I will ZIP the avi of the raw leap taken from TV and upload it to my own site and let you guys futz with it.
Iceman, that might be the only way for you to get your hands on it, as I certainly cant email 120 megs. My whole server only lets me have 84 megs for my whole site (now no one bombard me with all the free space available out there, I can barely keep up with this hobby as it is. I finally discovered today how to make a Fire Elemental, and I am seriously thinking about making a prequel to LEGACY where I get to get medieval on some supernatural ass with my flaming sword. (I would make the sequel but I need more actors.))
Exactly why the hell does a 18 megabyte movie get turned into 120 when the ALAM plugger gets a hold of it anyway?

What the hell was that?
Are there still 4 copies of this post up? Maybe all of this isnt my fault.

Do you have any sort of graphics editor? Photoshop? Anything? Cause you could create an action in Photoshop to change the format of those images and be done with it in a few minutes.

I have a couple of picture editors, I was just scared of having to change every single pic, as this plugin currently has 177 FRAMES.
SOmebody give me their address. Ill burn the raw footage and send you a disk. Was I the only one who taped that episode?

Good news, I just opened up something as banal as Paintshop and it can change tiff into jpegs. Now If I forgo looping the animation (Im sure you guys know how to reverse footage), I can cut it down to a mere 85 frames.
85 frames that I change from tiff into jpeg ONE AT A TIME.
DId I mention that Welcome to my Brain is but one part of a total of four? And my professor wants it finished sometime this decade?
If you guys REALLY have a undying urge to leap yourselves, can you wait a while?
(Besides, I wanted to be the first one to submit a movie using the effect, in an upcoming FX Reel/Trailer)
But have hope. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
