This is a trailer to my 30 mins long movie Resident Evil Biohazard, this is just a 4 min trailer to the real thing, some scenes from this trailer will not be added to the real 30 mins movie!

what a **** was this? razz

Uhhmm, right. it just felt that u took the cam for a walk... crazy

The lighting was strange, it was to long, the editing was bad... sry to be rude but its not good.. you should try making shorter cuts from the movie, not that long and do not add something to the trailer that you KNOW aint gonna be in the full movie.... watch at some of the other trailers in the cinema and you get it...

Yeah, check out the Power Corps and Nightcast trailers. They use quick, snappy, impressive shots to get us interested, drop hints of the story, show us glimpses of the main characters, then end before we get bored.

Having lingering shots that last for ages in a trailer is generally a bad move...

Glad to see you've got a tripod smile

Yah, as Andreas & Tarn say, some shots are too long. Did you mislay your video editing program? cos some of those cuts look like you literally filmed yourself then went offscreen & switched the camera off, then switched it on again. It doesn't look good, you can see the jerks of the camera as you attempt to press the record button.

It would have been nice to hear what that guy was saying. It freaked me out, to have this guy mouthing words & then suddenly seemingly laughing like a maniac (that's what it looked like, lol)

The only thing I liked really was the lighting. That red glow was good. Whether that was intentional or whether that is how your bedroom is lit I don't know, because this film has a totally random feel to it.

And those zomies walking across the street. You need to position them a bit lower cos they look like they're walking on air.

I'm going to agree with what everyone said about needing fast cuts between shots, and don't use footage you're not really going to use in the movie. But I'd like to add that since this is a "trailer", it should also be a lot shorter than it was. Have you ever been to a movie and had to sit through a 4 minute trailer? I'd be very angry if I had to do that. Make it shorter. A lot shorter. 30 seconds would have sufficed. But I have a theory that you made this one so long because we've all been telling you for so long to make a longer movie. That doesn't apply for trailers.

*Double post* please ignore

Then again, perhaps I should pose Darth_paul a question: how do you go about conceptualising your movies? Do you develop a loose theme and randomly film around that? Or do you prefer an "anything-goes" approach?

I suspect the length of the "trailer" has alot to do with the length of the background music(Am I right?) I also supect that the part where you are very close to the camera and appear to be screaming is one of the few if not the only shot you actually envisioned before shooting it. I also wonder where were Damien Way and Shane Harrison according to the credits they are in this "movie" but I didn't see anyone but you and a couple of CG zombies in the trailer. Can we possibly conclude that there is no movie just your desire to make something that everyone here will like so a quick title taken from some techno song a few camera shots and VIOLA here is my new "trailer" with some lame explaination about how some of the shots won't be included in the movie(90-95%). Generally speaking shots that won't be included in the movie are left on the proverbial "cutting room floor" though not literally in this digital age. And finally WHERE IS your NLE I didn't really see any evidence of editing at all other than the titles. If you don't have an NLE you can use windows movie maker it is free, granted it sucks but it is free.
Try storyboarding if you can't get a freind, say Damien or Shane to understand what your movie will look like and sound like and flow like before you shoot it then you are not ready to shoot it.
BTW if you could find or make the bio hazard symbol for your title couldn't you have printed it out instead of hand drawing it for that label or whatever that thing was?

P.S. I have been rather harsh in this reply but not to be mean but to encourage you to not waste time, yours or ours with mediocrity or less. sad

um, yes. Hello.

I was wondering where I file the law suit to claim compensation for the wasting of 4 minutes and 30 seconds of my life?

Anyone? Damn.

Right, Umm, better get started. Here goes. Listen to the others. Don't make trailers for movies that don't/probably won't exist. If you do make trailers like that at least call them tests and include some fancy new sfx technique that'll get people talking. Don't post randomness like this because you will only ever get negative remarks. Plan what you're going to do next time and don't aim too high!

Thats all the advice I can give for today. Best of luck next time.

Cheers,
Fight.

i think he should just quit making movies ...he does not have any talent at all...im sorry i dont want to sound like a bad guy but that was horrible and my 9 year old sister actualy made a movie 50 times better than that and im not lying....you didnt even plan out any of your shots ...each one lasted around a minute each without switching views or to a different shot..the music was really bad and there was no sound effects at all.... i dont understand at all how anybody can seriously think of this as a trailer and good in anyway...powercorps and nightcaster are excellent trailers and you should watch them to see how its done...i didnt even watch the whole thing i stopped it when you were shooting and red smoke was appearing out of no where.....thruout the whole thing i wanted to take a needle and shove it up my eyelid... im sorry for being such a bad guy but i really had to say some of this stuff...im tired of people posting movies that are so horribly made and this is the worst one i saw on this site yet.....bye all im sorry for my rude remarks

Alternate description:

After a long night of drinking and shooting, Darth Paul gets a huge hangover, and decides he wants a new briefcase. However; his attepts fail, and he runs into a bunch of moonwalking mummies, and starts shooting them because he hates them. When he finally gets his briefcase, he can't open it, because it's the kind you can't open, so he sits there for a while guarding it. Then runs away.

Darth Paul then becomes schizophrenic, and thinks that everyone is out to get him, and people are watching him in his room. He then becomes lost while trying to find a way out of his room, and starts getting shot at with paintballs. Then as he goes to his kitchen to cook a steak, he slips on the wet floor and starts stabbing a zombie with a long stick.

Dude, you have basic editing talent so why do you keep doing these test shots, or in this case SERIES of test shots one after the other. Try and build up from your knowledge of editing, try and do a fanfilm if need be?

I allways think that i should be fare and watch ALL OF a clip, movie, trailer test...etc. I think it is fare to the maker of the film. I hate to sound mean but, I got a headache from that. Redo it i might suggest. The shots were WWWWAAAYYYY too long! I almost fell asleep with the guy laughing sleep ...why WAS he laughing? What was the song? What was the acting? What was the FX? WHAT IS THE BIO-HAZARD?! You should have something NOTICEABLE about your film that has to do with the TITLE! And...er....why is it called ''resident evil'' (YES, I KNOW ITS A GAME/AND NOW A MOVIE)? Hehe. nice try.... but please, try to think more about your film and shots..etc. before you start...otherwise it dont look that great... I got motion sickness from the bizzare camera movement. redface Better luck next time Paul.........

No Comment as to the fil...ahem... footage that i just saw... also No Idea as to the footage that I just saw....

Not to be mean because Im not a amean person, but that was one of the worst films that I have ever seen. This has been one of the hardest post replies that I have ever made on this site because I dont even know what to say... My advice is not waste your time making a 30 min. long episode of that and putting it on this website unless you want people to really make fun of u next time... Either keep working with it or just step away from the camera cuz the only way you would make money from that video is if u sent it into americas funniest videos... and its not really even that funny... so scratch what i just said... anyways... i... i dont even know how to end this...

4:30 is about the time of a short film, not a trailor. keep trailors too a minimum, I had no clue what was happening, there wasnt really any explanation. As they said, work on your cuts and effects more... this needs a lot of work.

I agree with you all here, I just got camera happy, (not trigger happy) well yeah trigger happy too! as i was with the gun all the time! I have got a plot to this movie and its a good one. If you want to know the plot you must PM me or i will spoil it for others who dont want to know the plot! crazy Yes the trailer is the crappest i have ever done, and i am gonna say, I sohuld quit doing films is a bit harsh! i mean this is not the worlds worst footage, is it?

Darth_paul, everytime you promise that your next clip is going to be much much better than the current one, it ends up being the same, or in this case, worse. So I can't believe you anymore when you say "this PROPER movie will be better than the footage i did!". I just can't. So I'm sorry, but I really doubt anyone is going to believe you this time. It's like crying wolf. Each time we hear you cry "Better Footage is on it's way!" we come to check it out, then it turns out to be not good, so eventually no one will come at all. It's a process.

I've played Code Veronica X & didn't notice any umbrella notices.

Paul, don't take any discouragement from the comments, just see what people are saying & ignore those who say stop making films.

You obviously have enthusiasm for filmmaking (I'm not being condescending) & I really want to see a good film from you that's well put together so I can write a positive review & say hey that was really good. So do everyone else on here.

If I were you, though, I would concentrate on making a satisfying short movie rather than making a huge leap & making a 30 minute movie cos you need more practice & need to perfect your filmmaking a lot more.

And remember, the key to a good film is the plot & the script. I did offer to help you out with a script once - e.g. look at what you've written - but you never took it up. The offer is still open. It's important to film from a script so that your film is coherent, structured & gripping.

It's as bad as Tony the Phantom Menace, which is the worst movie on the site.

Wait, no, Tony the Phantom Menace is better, because it's got decent looking titles at the beginning.

So, the answer is YES, this is the world's worst piece of footage.

VideoManiac, are you serious? A 5? It's ranked right next to last place out of 476 movies on this site. What on earth made it a 5? I can see maybe a 1 or a 2, but nothing near a 5. Are you sure you didn't accidently watch something else and then vote here on the wrong movie?

Are we brain dead or on weed? The only way this movie rates a 3, 4 or 5 is if you were smoking crack or eating shrooms. Hell, maybe smoking a little weed would make it better. The movie required absolutely no thinking, so that throws out your braindead theory.

Darth Paul, you admitted this was one of the worst videos you have done, so my question is why did you put it up than? Anyway, don't listen to all of these people telling you just give up filmmaking. My friend Dominick Guinn (Undefeated Proffesional Heavyweight Boxing Prospect, trained by former Tyson/Holyfield trainer Ronnie Shields)) lost a ton of his Amateur Bouts early on (if I can remember correctly I believe he lost his first 20-26 bouts). I mean he stunk. Then he began to win A LOT! He went pro and recently destroyed and brutally KO'd Lennox Lewis victim Michael Grant (6'7", 254lbs), who was once thought to be the 'Next Big Thing' in Boxing (a few years back). Dominick is about to break the Top 10 in boxing and may even win himself a championship title one day. If he can do so awful in the amateurs early on then begin to win consistantly, even now as he comes close to the Top 10 in the world, than you could make a good movie.

I'm curious, did you film this Resident Evil movie by yourself? It has the appearance that you filmed it that way. It seems it would be hard when you don't have anyone else involved.

Man, that would feel awful to be rated 475 out of 475, especially when your movie/trailer is over 10 seconds long (or in this case, over 4 minutes) and when you see some of the other awful crap listed. I seriously think I could make an 5 second short of me farting flames and be listed MUCH MUCH higher than 475 out of 475.

Firstly, anyone that has played ANY resident evil game and does not know what Umberella is or hasn't seen any umberella notes lying around should go and shoot themselves. now. Melliflous...Remember that big icy building in antarctica? or maybe the prison you start off in? ALL owned by umberella, their notes LITTER the area.

Paul...I think you have it in you, you certainly have the inspiration just you're dedicating it to short pieces that dont look to be improving. Spend a LONG time on one piece....even if just a short piece and visualise what you want.

The Film I'm working on is taking me a long time, I havent even finished the script, let alone the storyboard. Now dissappear and come back in a few months and surprise us, We'll love you for it, I guarantee.

Dude i could see some stuff of what you were trying to do with the zombies and stuff, but unfortently it didnt pull off very well. If youre gonna do something you gotta work at positioning the camera correctly, that means your gonna need another person. Also your editing skills are pretty bad you got to understand that you cant leave a clip on for 30 seconds walk off then cut it. That just looks so poor. the best thing to do is watch films more closely which im sure you do, that means lots of different angles not one that continues. The acting was poor with the laughing the whole thing didnt make sense. those stills were awlful in the trailer best to keep them out. The idea of you shooting at the screen was kinda cool, even though it looked like you had one dodgy aim!!!

Your camera skills and editing skills need to be looked at, i think you have some good ideas, but youre just not pulling them off in the right way. Again try to look at other films and deconstruct it that way.

Sorry to say ill give you a 2 for trying

I thought it was very strange, too long, and that scene where hes holding a breifcase giggling to himself was just plain wierd.

Oh come on it can't be that bad. I've not downloaded it yet but I find it hard to believe that it's as monumentally apalling as you make out.

Or then again....

I'll say one thing about it though it gave me an experience unlike anything else I've ever had, I could literally feel my brain shrinking as it played. No I'm telling you the truth, honest, quite extraordinary.

What's strange is that there was absolutely nothing in it, but you somehow managed to stretch it out to over four minutes. Giving the impression that time was going backwards.

If you do make a full 30 minute film I think that could unleash a feeling of boredom that has not yet been encountered which could in turn unbalance the universe, causing all existence to spiral into oblivion, an eternity of mind melting boredom and headsplitting frustration. Life as we know it would cease to exist and all of science would unravel and crumble before our very eyes as the principles and laws of the universe in which we inhabit and base our very lives are annhilated in a slurry of images of you sat there doing nothing. This should bear a large red label warning that viewing it may damage the fabric of the universe.

In short I did not like this trailer.

But don't let me put you off.

thank you so much for this beauitful piece of artwork! honestly, this is the funniest thing i have ever seen!!! where did you come up with this stuff!?! it was pure genious. sleep .............. come on, man how long did it take you to shoot this "thing"? 4 and a half minutes? the only evidence that this p.o.s. was even edited were the "zombies". we've all made bad stuff. but come on. the internet is full of crap already. the website is full of films already. i am busy enough already (too busy for this "thing" at least) i want my 4.5 minutes back, but thats okay, i'm using another 4.5 to write this. i like to give films a chance, but this "movie" is an insult... a slap in the face, to any regular at this website. either make.........uh......something i can't look at without drooling on myself, or smash your camcorder to bits, and have a good time doing it. please, don't clog the internet with more garbage. and for God's sake please, don't waste anybody elses' time. although, i do have this "movie" saved and i view it all the time to laugh at it. and it will always remain a clear example of what not to do, you've at least acomplished that.
cheers

this is the greatest marketing gimmick ever! now i'm going to download and watch it to see how bad it really is - and i don't normally do that with this modem -- the movies have gotten longer and bigger - getting cable soon though.

Wow! This is the best depiction of a mushroom trip I have ever seen! The combination of drug tripping, 1st grade artwork, and bad overlay is absolutely fantastic! I have seen RuPaul music videos that are better than this POS! We are not in special ED. We don't need 30 sec. for every title. Were you tripping when you wrote this? Cheech and Chong make more sense. I have found more interest in roadkill than this "work". Anyways, I don't need to waste more time in this pro-shroom crap.

You really need to work on your editing skills or something! There are tons of other movies that i could have been watching but i got stuck watching this lame thing! You should be ashamed that you produced such a worthless "movie" NEXT TIME EDIT! k? grrrrrrrr! mad very very very stupid, lame, retarded, gay, and worthless! twisted

Words cant describe the fullness of this terrible excuse for a film. The camera work was atrocious. Very shaky in some parts and that red tinge thingy was just annoying. You (im assuming thats you in the trailer) exagerate your gun movements WAY too much. WTF are you shooting? That segment with you and the briefecase. What was the point of seeing you laugh for 30 sec. The zombies that you shot in the street were much better than i could do, but were still utter and complete crap. The one you were stabbing was better, but it seemed not to move. I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on, but i wont. This is an EXCEPTIONAL example of what NOT TO DO. But dont give up, just work a lot harder to make something better enxt time

Ok im done ranting.
Heres somethin to make you laugh, maybe you'll feel a little better.

well guys I watched this film back when I used to NOT review movies. And I decided to come back to this.

So this film is in the same line up as MYSTERY for a poor sad piece of wasted web space. You honestly should slap your parents for giving you the brain of a major idiot! How dare you take time out of your day and make this crap! You could have been doing something productive. But instead you decided to unleash your stupidity out unto the world for many people to be exposed to it. F*** you for this!

PEACE OUT

What a hilarious thread!

The bit which makes me crack up, is how insulted people have been by this movie.

The commenters seems to fall into two camps:
a) those who feel angry that such unmittigated arse-dribble could be allowed onto the internet, or

b) those who can watch this film, but only with an amuzed contempt for the film-maker, who they feel would probably have benefited the world if he were to stop making his "films" altogether.

I on the other hand find this film genuinely hilarious!...but for completely the wrong reasons. I don't feel contempt, i don't feel anger....i just feel horribly embarassed that someone could stand in front of a camera, making this film, then actually put it on the internet! Spending the extra time to put the alamdv fx, is just adding insult to injury....my injury: my sides splitting!

Its this "drawn-to-a-car-wreck" mentality which drives me to watch this film over and over again. This film makes me feel privileged to have a brain (although its debatable). If ever there were a market for self-help videos based on "at least you aren't like this"-psychology.....this footage would be it.

If someone were to Kazaa this...i'd warrant Darth_Paul will have a 30Gig iPod by the end of the year! razz
