I just did a quick makeup test and this is what happened. I know it looks pretty fake, but tell me what you think. I bet i will have people say that stinks and all that, but i guess that will be too bad....I could have added more, but thats too bad!

Me as a Terminator damaged!

Thanks for comments in advance!

Woah, thats pretty good. The hand is the best part. With the face, the blending edge is just a tad to thick. If its a rubber appliance (Heavy duty) then try getting some glasspaper (Sandpaper.. although its not sand) and gently rub down the edges.

Keep it up!

This whole terminator thing is really interesting! Good try, children, but this is how you REALLY do terminator stuff:

Now, this is the part where you look back and realize how crappy your stuff looked. biggrin

EDIT: this is the newer version -

Hey hey hey! No need to put down other's and no need to be bragin'. However Mecha, it does look awesome, but the robot part is too clear, add some film grain to it smile

And I'd like to see how smooth that looks in motion...probably not very wink. But it does indeed look very good as a still shot. cool

If you make anymore pictures or movies, make them so you can see the effect you want people to see. And maybe a close up. You move really fast in that clip, and 4/5ths of the movie is just a blank picture of the room.

Looks like tinfoil taped to your face with red marker on the edges.

Heh, I kind of like it. Very cheap effects and it looks pretty good..try covering up more of your face next time. Mecha, do you think you could make a tutorial on how you did your Terminator arm for the others? I think everyone would really appreciate it smile

thats the greatest answer ever!!! LMFAO!!!!

how do you think you'd do it?

photoshop out the middle of your arm, throw in a cg arm at the right angle and lighting, few small things to blend it together

yay

Yes, 17 is still a child. What was the "official" age? Something like 18? Or was it 21?

Let's take it up a notch and say, "no one's an adult till they support themselves financially".

Magicman, obviously that's how he did it. This place is supposed to be home to a wealth of information on a varity of topics. Telling someone "take a picture, throw in a CG arm with lighting and render" is not going to help them by any means.... neutral

I've been planning a terminator face mod for a while now for a fancy dress gig im going to a new years. My plan is to get some thin aluminum, beat it into shape to fit the shape of the side of my face the best i can. Then mold round the edges with some sort of skin tone putty. Not sure what to use mind, any ideas?

Im gonna finish it off with a small red diode built into a washer to make up the glowing eye. I'll take some pictures as i build it to give you an idea of how its going to look.

Hopefully it'll come out well...

The reason it looks 'inspector gadgety' is because your deleting the entire arm. You need to be subtle with the effect, and make a few holes where the skin has been torn off the metal.

yeah, otherwise it looks like ur extending ur arm out wards, unlike a bit has been chiped away or shot off. also the blood isnt that convincing u may want to look into it a bit. Like get it to flow, instead or a ring as such

u can see the cloneing effect on the shirt. But if you work on it, it can look pretty good! biggrin Just practice it. Did u like mine, the reason mine where small was the fact i didnt have enough material to make them bigger...lol! But good job, keep it up. Just work on the cloning. I did mine all with Premiere and Photoshop. But keep at it and u will have a good effect...just work on the cloning....

sorry reply took a while was watching waking life, man thats a film! yeah thats one thing i tried to touch up a bit its on the shirt u can see it morph a bit like with the different shadows and what not comin up.

yours was really good, i think as u have pointed out the thing u needed to do was to have more on the bullet hit, i know u made urs outta clay? i think i done mine with tin foil just a little sheet, made it ruff, and ready looked really good, i think urs would work well. Oh another thing actually, i think because u had a hole on the bullet hits to attach it maybe to the shirt, u can see where u have painted in the middle, which looks a little fishy, but if u sorted that out, would look really good, i would say we nearly mastered it my friend, just a little more practice, and we dont need no disscharges under our shirt, sill james cameron, wasting money GET SOME TIN FOIL OR CLAY!!!
