Well, I won't be doing another lightsaber effect for awhile. Doing the effect takes too long. Maybe I was doing something wrong but by the time I finished I didn't want to see another lightsaber for a long time. I had no idea the effect was so tedious. Anyway, this was done for my wife's nephews because they love Star Wars, as I do.

lol im glad, some people of an Mature nature, are getting into this. Especially fans of starwars, you dont see many. Really only kids in there teenager years. I gotta admit, that was kinda sick! (in a goodway) The way you done that blood effect through the mouth. I was like HELL YEAH even though it is pretty violent. I did cringe a bit i must admit!! razz It does take a very long time to do lightsabers, and trust me. to get it to look even sharper, like i have seen by the likes of Ryan-W it takes months and months, of hard work. You did need to add the glow on the sabers, when they came out of the saber it self. It just looked weird, crossing from colour to just plain white. Just keep trying it and im sure you will get it better next time. So please post more stuff. i would love to see so stuff from you guys

Yup, even us old geezers at 43 like to play fantasy still. Remember, when Star Wars came out I was 15. I love it as much now-despite Lucas nearly ruining it for me with his latest releases-as I did back when I was a teen. Wish Alam had been around then. Anyway, glad you liked the gore twist at the end.

As for the glow I have to admit I don't know how to do that. Is it a separate plugin or something?

The lightsabers need a complete facelift becuase they were horrible! But I gave you four stars becuase the way that guy was killed was brillant. Come back again with better sabers. And another BEUTIFUL death!

Mature!!!??? Jeez, you make them sound as though they're in their 70's! biggrin

Seriously though, the building blocks of this test clip were solid. While yes the actual saber effect could be improved, the camerworl was solid and the cuts were perfect. Camerawork and editing are way more important to get right than the glow of the sabers. I gave this a three because it was very well done, but still only a test clip. Your basic video skills are there and I am looking forward to seeing more from you. Good job! -Shon

when you are adding lightsabers there should be a small "toolbar" with information about the lightsaber. You have to pull the glow meter up to what number you do think fit and there you go. You could change color by pressing different colours in the "toolbar".

Hope you understand.

Shon: Thanks for the editing cudos. I agree with you that tightly edited cuts are really needed. Glad you noticed.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...much appreciated. As for the glow, I was worried that they would glow too much so I kept it dialed down intentionally I think. Not willing to go back and change it now but will definetly keep it in mind for any future lightsaber play.

Happy to hear that some of you liked the saber through the skull thing. Thought that might add a over-the-top twist to an otherwise mundane test.

Good job. The way the lightsabers clashed together was well done.

It was good except at the end, you forgot to put the lightsaber effect on (right before the thru the head shot) That could be a major problem in t he future if it wasn't only a test
