If you do decide to go with mIRC, here is a link for information on how to connect to the CSB server: http://fxhome.com/chat/advanced.html
For those who are too lazy to click, here it is
Most people are aware that you can use different browsers to surf the web, in a similar way you can use different software to join our chat server.
This information is for advanced users that want to use their own IRC client to join the chat.
The connection details are on the right. Depending on how your web browser is setup you may be able to click the following link to automatically launch your IRC client and connect to us.irc://irc.fxhome.com:6667/
The majority of users use mIRC (www.mirc.com) on Windows and AthenaIRC (www.chipersoft.com/athena) on a Mac to connect to the chat server. Both of these have fully functioning demos and because these are popular you should be able to find someone who will help you set it up. However, you are free to use any client you wish (theres lots and lots available, try googling for more).
If you do a '/list' command you will be able to see all the channels/rooms. All FXHome channels will be prefixed with 'fxhome' so you know which are the official channels. You are free to join any of the channels on the server but ones not prefixed with 'fxhome' are unofficial and we are not responsible for the content within. You may also create your own channels but we reserve the right to remove any channels we dont find appropriate.
Bots are only allowed if we have given you permission to run one in advance. If we find you are running a bot without asking us first it will be killed and you will most likely be banned from the server.
Malone is the IRC server operator. If you need any help with the IRC server please contact him.
