Hi! I need a submarine and a torpedo to illustrate a movie of a submarine sinking a frigate. I intend to have the submarine coming against the camera, and then let the torpedo come from the submarine towards the camera.

u could make a model of one maybe, i made a model of a plane put fish wire on it "invisable type" and added effects so it look like there wee flak and added sound ect, you could do the same for a sub i feel.

Yeah, and also, alam isnt meant for that. Alam is made for 2d extras (explosions, muzzle flashes, etc) not 3d objects that make the scene. If you tried to make a plugin like that for alam, it would look bad...

You could easily get a 3d app (even a free one, www.amabilis.com), make the sub and torpedo pretty easily, and put blue behind it, then composite it into your footage.

Alam does support 3d renders tho, 2d ones. I think that a sub, from the from, could easily be done in alam, because u don't have to rotate it etc (obviously still better to do it in a 3d app or as a model) but could still be achieved with alam, fairly effectively...

The problem would be the lighting, if u do a sub, or any 3d model, with alam, the lighting is usually gonna be completely different. I was thinking, that i could (if i found a submarine model) render several different variations, each one with different amounts of light, so it would match in...

The torpedo could be achieved with the missile plugin, which i made (not sure if u have seen it) if not, just say, and i could find one of those too...

Ok, just submitted a submarine plugin, 8 different shades, from the front, as requested...

Not sure if u want any other angles later on, or anything, tell me if u want a torpedo too...

Thank you! It's something like that I wanted. The submarine was maybe a little bit old for my movie, but it is from that angle i want to see the submarine. If you are able to make a torpedo plugin as well, that would be great!

Ok, so my knowledge of submarines isn't great, but it looks fairly modern to me, and it's the only one that didn't look like a black circle with fins, hope it helps tho...

I have found several missile models, will make them into plugins, aswell as any torpedos i may find!
